#microblogmonday: world prematurity day

November 17 is World Prematurity Day.

Today, I am thankful for the miracle of modern medicine and all it does to help save the lives of the millions of babies born too early — including mine.

Today, I am thankful for the doctors and nurses who took such great care of K while she struggled in her first five weeks of life.

And today, I am thankful that this once tiny baby — who couldn’t eat on her own, who had to be drugged and sedated and poked and prodded — is now a (crazy, wild, frustrating, hilarious) healthy, growing toddler.
